Daily Bank Cleaning Checklist

Daily Bank Cleaning Checklist

Most banks get a significant amount of foot traffic, so it’s not uncommon for the reception areas and spaces to require frequent cleaning. On rainy days, you might also have to deal with some mud and water in the entryway. The checklist below will take care of these daily cleaning needs:

  • Sweep the floors, conference rooms and VIP receiving areas. Vacuum all carpets.
  • Dust window blinds.
  • Dust and disinfect all surfaces, especially high-touch areas like door handles, keypad buttons on self-service machines, ATM touchscreens, and light switches.
  • Use glass cleaning products to clean and polish windows, mirrors, and glass doors and dividers.
  • Wipe down and disinfect all waiting benches and chairs.
  • Wipe down and disinfect all bank clerks’ desks, counters, booth dividers, and handset phones.
  • Empty the waste paper bins.
  • Tidy the counter areas allotted for filling out forms.
  • Clean the bathrooms and disinfect the sinks.
  • Sweep the floor and tidy the break room or pantry.
  • Refill the tissue and soap dispensers in the bathrooms and pantry.
  • Refill the tissue and hand sanitizer dispensers in the receiving and waiting areas.

Weekly Cleaning Tasks

While the items on the following checklist tend to be overlooked because they are not always in clear, visible sight, it still helps to keep up the maintenance and cleanliness of these areas. Some tasks take a lot of time and effort, and it’s more practical to do them when you have a lot to clean. Here are some weekly tasks to include in your cleaning schedule:

  • Vacuum all benches and upholstered chairs.
  • Vacuum the entire floor, including the curtains and corners on the floor and ceiling
  • Empty the waste paper tray in photocopiers and printers (doing this weekly is a precaution: if someone mistakenly places important documents in the waste tray, staff may still be able to find and retrieve them).
  • Dust, wipe down, and disinfect all computer stations and desks.
  • Inspect and clean all ATMs, cash deposit machines, and queue ticket dispensing machines.
  • Wipe down and disinfect all window and door frames.
  • Polish chrome fixtures like door handles and decorations.
  • Polish wood surfaces and furniture.
  • Deep clean pantry appliances like the microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and refrigerator.
  • Mop and disinfect the pantry floor.
  • Mop and disinfect the bathroom floors.
